LOW-CON 35MM FILM EMULATION

I use it for still photography. As I wrote in the title, it does precisely what it says: it beautifully lowers the contrast, giving the image a soft, toned-down look, like an old picture from the seventies forgotten in a drawer.

I like this look as in Body LUT with my Lumix S5II. A little increased contrast makes it perfect for my personal taste :)

Cinecolor's Low-Con LUT is very strong. At full strength, it will turn your images very red, leaving top highlights crispy, darkening mid-tones. Kind of the worst of Kodak film, for those of us who shot on it and worked with it. However, when I set Low-Con at levels of 70% or less, it deepens the image, softens and warms the colours. It gives digital images, some real late 1970's, early eighties organic glow.

I see Low-Con more as an effects LUT than a daily driver.
