I admit, I am new to this. But this LUT is my preferred conversion LUT, even over Phantom LUTs and some other highly regarded LUTs. It is unquestionably, vastly superior to the horrible, standard Sony SLog3 conversion with its sickly looking green skin tones and overall yellow-green tint. When the Cinecolor is applied, the contrast levels look identical the standard Sony LUT, but the colours look 'right'. The Cinecolor is what the Sony should have been. It is slightly desaturated and lacking contrast 'out of the box'. But typically, all that is needed is a small nudge to (global) saturation and brightness/exposure, and it is good to go. However, if some footage needs to be pushed further, there is a lot of room to move with the Cinecolor. I do not feel I have the same flexibility with the Phantom LUT. When the Phantom LUT it is not exactly what I want, every correction in one area seems to break something in another area. The overall look to the Cinecolor I would describe as subtly stylised and not entirely neutral on all footage. Dark shadows can push a touch blue and skin tones can push a touch red, if you push too far. But overall, skintones, colours, contrast and dynamic range are as good as I've seen from my Sony cameras.
